Voice assistant
What is a voice assistant?
A voice assistant or mobile assistant is software that takes place due to speech recognition. The spoken words are analyzed, classified in the correct context and formulated an answer as a conclusion. Voice assistants are mostly integrated in smartphones or smart speakers. If one speaks with these end devices, the device answers questions about its language software by voice. Thanks to integrated voice control, the devices manage daily tasks such as calendar entries, shopping lists or memory options, answers questions, for example on weather or traffic, or control networked smart home devices. The most popular voice assistants are currently Alexa from Amazon and Google Assistant.
The Google Assistant controls the devices via Google Home App.
With an "OK Google" or "Hey Google", the networked voice assistant can be activated very easily and immediately takes over the voice control of various devices. Google Home's voice match function is particularly practical. After a short language training of the individual people, for example, the speaker recognize who appeals to him and automatically uses the corresponding user account. The respective individual entries are accessed- whether personal bus travel times, appointment and telephone entries should be queried or favorite titles should be reproduced.
How about data protection?
The microphones are constantly activated, but do not record anything without command. If you do not want to control the device via the voice assistant, simply switch off the integrated microphones using a silent button. So you can have private conversations with the assistant in the room without being afraid that they get to the outside world. Google Assistant only accepts questions and commands when you express the magic word "OK, Google" near it.
